Updates...

Dec. 10 will be Ms. Benedict's last day as our student teacher. We will be having a little going away party. If your child would like, he or she may bring a snack to school either individual or to share. If it is individual, it can be homemade, if it is to share, it must be store bought. I will be supplying some treats for all, as well.
I am very excited to be teaching again. We will miss Ms. Benedict, though.

I can' t believe it's almost mid-December already! In reading, we will begin our third reader's unit as we finish Unit 3. The students are getting used to responding to reading by writing- which increases reading skills. We are nearing the end of our math unit focusing on place value and decimals. We have watched some fun YouTube videos about decimals.

In social studies, we continue to learn about communities. Last week, we took a virtual field trip to Chicago. Then the students compared and contrasted rural to urban. They also wrote which community they would rather live in.

We wrote "What Christmas means" for the local newspapers, so keep your eyes on the paper for your child's wonderful response.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and the mini break. It was nice to enjoy some fairly warm weather this weekend as well. It felt good to be outside without too many layers.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I would love to discuss your child and their progress.
