FYI

We have an all day field trip this Friday to Marr Park. We will not go if it rains. Please have your child wear pants (jeans) and tennis shoes. We will be exploring. One of the activities is fishing and we will supply everything. 6 students signed up to bring their own lunch. All others will scan their lunch ticket for a school sack lunch. We will leave at 8:30AM. If you (or a family member) are planning on attending, you can meet us down there and do not have to ride the bus. You also need to make sure you have filled out and returned the paperwork for volunteering. It is available in the office, or I can send it home with your child. 

Wednesday, we will be Skyping with a 3rd grade class in Missouri to celebrate Poetry Month. We have been practicing reading poems to increase fluency.

Thursday will be our last MAP test of the year. It will be on math. I will send home the results after. We had a lot of growth from reading MAP. Some students increased over 25 points!!

Next Wednesday, we go to Usher's Ferry in Cedar Rapids. I have 9 papers returned for students to bring their own lunch. We will again leave around 8:30AM. This is a pioneer child simulation. Your child is strongly encouraged to dress as a pioneer child. This event will replace our Laura Ingalls Wilder Day at school. 1/2 the day will be spent in a one room schoolhouse and the other 1/2 will be exploring the buildings and houses then doing an activity. 

We are continuing to read and do the study guide for Little House on the Prairie. 

Spelling words this week (words that end in er or le): summer, winter, little, October, travel, color, apple, able, November, ever, later, purple, flower, people, thermometer, mumble

​Please remember Spring weather is unpredictable. Please dress your child in layers.

Just a reminder if you are purchasing an artwork item from your child's project, the order form and money is due Friday.

There are many students that need to return the picture packets from Spring pictures or money for the pictures. Thank you to those that have already done this.
